‘The Agreement’ by Raeshem Nijhon is a documentary film that tells the story of the establishment of the Sustainable Development Goals.This film was presented to honour the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. These 17 Sustainable Development Goals evolved from the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and were agreed unanimously by the 193 member states. Days, weeks and months passed before an agreement had been made. There had already been a number of negotiations in 2013-2014, but on 25 September in 2015, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals were adopted in New York.

The SDGs are essential to ensure that the global system, the geopolitical infrastructure and the economic situation in different countries do not fall apart. Especially in times of crisis, more international structures, stakeholders and NGOs are required in our society.
